2 of pentacles

This painting is a part of my Queer Revolution Tarot series. I painted 78 tarot cards based on the themes of traditional decks, but with a gender expansive approach to a traditionally binary categorization. Masculine and feminine are qualities, not bodies, and anybody could embody either or both.

This card represents time management, adaptability, and prioritization. You are juggling many responsibilities right now, and you need to carefully manage the limited time, energy, and resources you have. Balance and equilibrium come from adaptability—don’t be too rigid with yourself, and allow yourself to rest. Remember that you don’t have to be busy to be productive, and that your output doesn’t reflect your worth. Prioritize self care so that you will have the ability to manage your responsibilities.

The figure juggles two coins while on roller skates. She squats down while carefully tossing the coins, finding balance and getting into a rhythm. Multiple light sources create movement through the color and shadows, emphasizing asymmetry and tension.
