Ace of pentacles

This painting is a part of my Queer Revolution Tarot series. I painted 78 tarot cards based on the themes of traditional decks, but with a gender expansive approach to a traditionally binary categorization. Masculine and feminine are qualities, not bodies, and anybody could embody either or both.

This card represents the potential for tangible growth. Prosperity and abundance are possible, but steps need to be taken first. Now is the time for the initial stages of manifesting goals and mapping out the future. Remember that there's more to success than financial abundance; focus on holistic wealth instead.

Each of the aces in my deck stand in front of a monochromatic background, holding the object of their suit forward. In many traditional tarot decks, the aces are the objects being presented by the hand of god. The monochromatic background acts as a symbol of transcending reality into a realm of possibility.

Plants represent tangible growth across the pentacle suit. Small budding flowers pattern the background, symbolizing potential. The figure looks up at the coin, focused and determined.
