Curled up

This is a part of my series on connection with my cat, Oliver. These paintings explore the open vulnerability that can come easy with animals but takes much more work between humans.

The painting depicts a figure curled up on a couch with a cat. The composition is tight, accentuating the closeness of the figure to the cat. While the cat sleeps, the figure gazes directly at the viewer with a slight smile, as if inviting the viewer in.
